Stop Staying in Misalignment: Find Your Bullseye and Go

About this episode

Misalignment is the tax you pay for living someone else's life, and this solo monologue from Ben Beeri makes the case for cutting it loose fast. The episode dissects why people stay in jobs they hate, relationships going nowhere, and status purchases meant to impress people who don't care — framing each as a blind-fired arrow with no bullseye. "You're either on the path to get it or it's in your way," he says, arguing that clarity of desire is the missing input behind most stalled lives.

Expect a direct take on personal accountability, self-alignment, and intentional living, with adjacent themes drawn from self-development, decision-making, and goal-setting frameworks. The host closes with a single prompt: name your bullseye, then take the most direct steps to reach it.

Ben BeeriOther people are just an illusion. Like, it's just you. Like, at the end the day, it's you, your actions, like, you taking your own accountability, like, who you are as a person. We put too much stock into what other people think or do or act. And it's like, oh my god. This person will do this. Or if I buy a car, this person will be impressed. I hope this person likes my boat. I hope this person likes my watch. Oh, you don't like it? Well, I never wanted it to begin with. Like, what do you actually want? Like, what do you want? Like, what do you desire in life?

Like, so many of us live life for somebody else. Like why? Like fucking why? Like why does it matter what somebody else thinks? Like the job, the career path you are going down right now. Do you like it? Do you enjoy it? Or do you show up every day, so you can collect the paycheck? So you can basically say, hey, I'm doing something that somebody else wants me to do. And there's so many times in our lives where we come across this we're at this crossroads, and we're sitting there going like, this is so misaligned in my life.

I cannot take this anymore, and you stay in the misalignment. You stay in the career that's not working for you. You buy the car to impress somebody that doesn't care about you. You're sitting there, you're on a path, you're in the relationship. It's not serving you anymore. It's not growing you. You're not the person that you want to be as a result of being in that relationship. And the question really becomes is how quick can we leave our misalignments behind in life? Because there's so many times where the action that we need to take to remove the misalignment is the one thing that's keeping us from everything that we truly desire and want in life, and we just don't remove the misalignment.

We stay in the misalignment longer than we have to. Man, and staying in the misalignment, like, that's a tough one. Like I've done it. You've done it. Like we've all done it. Like we're all guilty of it. But when you know something like you have an inner knowing of what you actually want, you're either on the path to get it or it's in your way. So the question becomes is how do you remove the misalignment from your life? How do you do it cleanly? How do you do it respectfully? The misalignment could be a person, it could be a friend, it could be somebody you're working with.

The misalignment could be the job itself. It could be the path itself. It could be the career itself. The misalignment could be the city that you're in. It's like, why are we actually staying in the misalignment? Like, why are we there? Like, what are we actually hoping to do? Like, is it that uncomfortable to face the unknown, like the unknown possibility that we're willing to endure the discomfort of the actual misalignment? Like, we are willing to show up to a place of work every single day that we fucking hate because it's not comfortable to leave the job and search for something that's actually meant for you.

Like the relationship that you've been stuck in for the last five years, and you know is going nowhere, but you don't want to be alone, and you don't want to create the path for somebody else to come into your life that's more suited for you. Like, why are you still there? Like, the dream you want, the thing you want is on the other side of you taking the misalignment and fucking throwing it out. Like, get it gone. Because there's nothing that shrinks you more than the misalignments in your life.

Like, you sit there and you think of all the things that you want, and your body expands. Your capacity expands. Like you can do anything all of a sudden like you are capable of doing anything because you know you want something like you want that career. You want that relationship. You want that car. You could shove it in somebody's face till you realize that I don't actually want the car. What did I actually want? Maybe you do want the car. Maybe you love driving. You love speed. You wanna roll your windows down or hold the top down. You wanna feel the fucking breeze.

You want the car. You're gonna work to get the car. Like you will get the car. But like, what do you want? Like, so many of us don't actually identify what we want in life. Like, I feel we have a want problem. Like, we want so many things, but we want them so loosely. We don't actually identify what we want. Now all of a sudden, it's like it's almost like you're blind firing, like you're taking hay. Imagine shooting arrows, but not looking at where you're going. It's like there's a bullseye right there.

Like lock in on the target, like load the arrow and release it on the bull's eye. And so many of us lose sight of that bull's eye. Like we lose sight of that bull's eye. We stay in misalignments. We blind fire. We're off track. There is no alignment in our goals. There is no specific desire of what we want. And what do we want? Like, what do we actually want? Like, what is our bullseye? And how do we get it? Like, what is the most direct way to get to our bullseye? And I think that that is something that both you and I and everybody around us needs to put thought into.

What is your bull's eye in life? What do you want? And then how can you take the steps to get there in the most aligned way possible? Because when you've got a target insight, and you're aligned, and you know that you want it, you're gonna go and get it. Like you're going to take the steps to go out and get it. And when you take the steps to go out and get something that you want, and you actually get it, and it's aligned for you, it was meant for you. There's no better feeling in life. There's no better feeling in life knowing that it was yours, you went for it, and you made it yours.

So what is it in your life? What is it in your life that you want? What is your bullseye? Let's get your bullseye.
